Question Guns.

So last night, I shot a gun for the first time. It was just a .22, but I have to say I was really disappointed. I've heard all these people talking about shooting and how much fun it is and how it's this huge rush, but I felt like I was shooting a cap gun.

Is it just because it's a .22? Would higher caliber guns feel much different, or are guns just not as exciting to fire as I thought?

haaaaaa, yeah it's because it was a .22. I love .22s, but they have no chance of knocking you on your ass.

Try firing an AR-15 or a shotgun if you can. Or fuck, a .44 handgun - you'll know it's real when you can't hear for a good 30 seconds afterward.

Okay, good. Yeah my friend took it out and shot it a couple times and I was just like "wait...that's a real gun?"

It was fun shooting at targets and all that, but it still felt like I was shooting a bb gun or something.

So, tell me, do you hunt? Well, let me tell you something. Once you hunt a human being, you'll never hunt an animal again. You know, it's a different kind of rush. The problem is, is that when you've done it for as long as I have, all you got to show for it is an empty bank account and, uh, IBS.

Yeah, that's irritable bowel syndrome.

I don't hunt. But that's only because it's only legal to hunt animals.

I try very hard to keep emotions and socializing separate from my gun shooting. From a purely physical aspect, I try to view gun shooting as a means of survival. On the other hand, I typically develop very strong emotional bonds with friends and tying gun shooting in with that (and thus developing strong emotional bonds with gun shooting) is not good for me.

But why isn't it good for you? Shooting guns is a form of communication, and should be shared amongst those inherent to your immediate social circle. Even the foundation of survival is an omnipresent function that has the potential for a communicable standing in society that facilitates further survival on a social scale. The rituals one might undergo with others to obtain a satisfactory, and thus healthy, wealth of relationship interaction betwixt the very primal need to hunt and maintain the devices that might facilitate this is one that harkens to the very beginning of culture and human time immemorial. Surely you must understand this.

Don't know much about guns but I'm awesome at shooting those flying plates, 15/15 every single time. Guess playing counter strike finally paid off
