The Ultimate Car Head Unit?

Ok so what is the best head unit out there? I like the Sony CDXM610
this costs around £330 new. I know there is much better around, so what does every1 else like?

Yeah, ill have to agree with you. Ive had lots of experience with sony and it wasn;t very pleasant, especially in the car audio department.

hmm...agreed most people think sony are pos, but most of their products have features that only come in more expensive units for other companies which is what i find most appealing about them...not only car audio, but also personal audio & home entertainment as well

only reason i got sony head unit was 'cos at the time, no one else was offering MDLP on a head unit!

it's similar one to ur's Martijn...only md instead of cd, but came with a different remote & joystick remote as well

otherwise, been extremely happy with it...had it for a while now...no problems, works fine, good output & sexay stylez

...tho it doesn't let u name radio stations (something the old sony's did)...it only gets names on radio if it's digital signal (only a handful around here)

yeah i have to say that clarion is the leader in car audio equipment, not just in the audio department but in the visual one as well.

This point of view has no bias even though i have a clarion set up in my car

What i dont understand is, what actually makes the brand sony a "P-O-S" Are they faulty or something, is the output crappy, what personable experiances have you had with them that make you brand them this DJ TranceFormer? Just asking cause my mate is looking at buying an xplode setup in his car but if its really not worth it, i will advise him against it..

thanks

i'll go for clarion too...not because i have a setup too, but because it is really good, i've had a couple friend with sony head units and they were pretty dogdey and the cd-rs skipped like hell even though they said they supported it, also a friend had sony xplod subs and they distorted like hell after you crank up the volume, so personally i would go for either clarion, alpine, focal, phoenix gold, jbl for my car audio stuff ...just my two cents, feel free to criticize me

I have one of these:
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/p...&productId=2406
Maybe not the best receiver- still a damn good one- but I'm waiting to buy an amp & some woofers. Anyone got any recommendations?

this is the greatest thing. I like the way it folds down when you press the button.

I have many sony things, and they all seem to be fine. Just because they are a big company doesn't mean they make bad products.
