Are you speaking of philosophy class as a mandatory course, study group or simply as the study of philosophy in general?

LoL!
I don't know if the original question is objecting to Philosophy as a general education requirement...if so, I can understand. As a liberal arts major I hate having to take stuff not related to that as general education (ie: science courses, etc.) so I could understand that.
I *do* think all business majors should be forced to take Ethics though for reasons which should be clear to anyone who reads the papers...
And I think anyone who's into liberal arts owes it to themselves to take a philosophy class or two, even if it's just for fun. They can open new ways of thinking, and allow you to better yourself.

philosophy rocks... or used to rock, back when I was taking it... if you hate philosophy and it's depth, you would be kinda narrow-minded in my book, but it's not like anyone cares about what I think

Philosophy my god I hated that course so much that I loved it.
You seriously have to be open minded and able to open your eyes to understand what the teacher is trying to teach you because other wise you are gone and unable to see it's true beauty. I noticed that you have to Not think to understand most of what is to understand rather then think what is being said to be comprehended ...it's confusing, I know but if you understand that you wont have that much to deal with.
I’m stumped right now, I think of philosophy and I’m in love with the stars and the nature of what the mind can bring to think and say. Either that or I’m just as dumb as the one who knows nothing.

I think philosophy is a great course, helps keep an open mind. When I took it, some of the concepts seemed vague and didn't really apply to me but it was really interesting to see people discussing such abstract concepts. Don't pass by the chance to at least try it!
