i looked but we don't have a sub-forum for poland in the europe section, so i thought to ask here.

a potential work opportunity could have me move to warsaw, poland for about 1 - 2 yrs. currently i'm in NYC. to me it's a great opportunity to travel and enjoy europe, however i've never been to poland (or anywhere in eastern europe for that matter) so i have no idea what it's like, other than the fact that lots of hot chix live there

has anyone from a western country moved to poland for work before? how was it?

i should add that i'm not white, so i need to consider local attitudes towards minorities and foreigners as well.

i'm not goin there to find work, i already have a job. it's an assignment for a year, maybe 2 yrs. help build out a new team.

well poland was recently filled with neo-nazis. how many of them came for the Euro2012 and how many live there normally, dont know.

all i know is that polaks come here to norway to make 3 x yearly doctor salary by picking strawberries for a season. so it might not be 100% awesome down there..

the money part will be taken care of in the sense that i won't be losing out financially while there. that's part of the deal the company is offering.

the only thing i have to worry about there is my job function and what life outside work will be like.

that's what my boss said. the cost of living there is about 60% that of NYC which means i'll be able to save even more there than i'm saving right now.

i guess my biggest fear is being attacked by some neo-nazis or whatever, or just generally being treated like shit for being a brown foreigner.

they might even decide to deport me for fucking too many of their women.
