In the US it's used as the third drug administered out of the 3 drugs that are used as part of a lethal injection for executions.

I think it's the one that stops the heart, whereas the first 2 put you to sleep and then stop your breathing.

Well at non-lethal amounts it does have various medical uses. I don't know why he'd need that much of it though

It'd be so much cheaper, more humane and probably less resistance met from the public, if they'd just give them a lethal dose of methadone, instead of that hellish concoction right there, that historically has a high probability of fuck-up.
