Does trance = Emotional problems

lately there have been a lot of threads in this room that have been posted by people that seem to have serious emotional problems. there have been threads about killing other people, killing themselves and depression. im not trying to put anyone down, im not the most stable person either. i was just wondering if there is something about trance that attracts all of us lunatics.

I promised I wouldn't post anymore tonight, but I couldn't help it

Although trance is the most emotional form of electronic music, I don't think it has got anything to do with this behaviour. It's like the stereotype that says that goth people are depressed suicidal persons.

Nope, it's just that most people in general are pretty fucked up, so any other segment of the population would probably also exhibit the same prevalence of these characteristics.

i'm normal and i listen to trance...

just like any other group that listens to a genre of music there is bound to be some ppl who are more "extreme" than others...

either that or trance is associated with drug use...

no its just that theres so many people on the boards now statistically there should be more lunatics on here
if a board with 100 people has one lunactic a board with 32000 would have 320 of em.
plus lunatics stand out more so u they make it seem like everyones crazy

Cant think why trance could cause emotional problems. I think the only types of music that COULD cause emotional problems are thrash metal or black metal - or whatever the fuck its called. Stuff that tells you to kill babies and eat your mum etc.

Most people get fucked up by:-

- Extreme events that cause stress - loss of love - someone close etc
- Excessive hard drug taking and subsequent addictions - I'm talking coke and heroin here.
- Being weak minded and allowing themselves to be influenced by media sources (violent films/music etc).
- A genetic pre-disposition to mental illness.
- A childhood of abuse (just look at Michael Jackson)

i didnt say trance causes emotional problems. i know they have found that most mass murderers have an above average IQ, some borderlining genius. so i was wondering if there is something about the complexity of trance that cause people with emotional problems to like it.

?????????????????

I know u didnt say Trance causes emotional problems.

I was replying to this statement ------> Does trance = Emotional problems and then furthering my opinion by offering suitable suggesstions of phenomena that could cause emotional problems.

And as for your IQ statement. I dont think you need to undertsnad trance, you just need to listen. Therefore you dont need a high IQ to listen to it and this hopefully means you have statistically less chance of being detrimentally emotionally affected by it.

DAMN I'M GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok - first this is not a competition, so i dont understand the damn im good statement. secondly u started your first post with "cant think why trance could cause emotional problems." u then gave types of music that could cause emotional problems. my question was does trance =(equal, not cause)emotional problems, meaning if you listen to trance do u have an emotional problem. lastly, your statement about the IQ made absolutley no sense. Again u started to explain about why trance would have an effect on someone. I also dont understand why u said that trance would only have a detrimental effect on someone with a high IQ or why you brought up stastics on this subject.

once again i was only wondering if people with certain personalities (i.e. depression or homicidal tendacies) are drawn to trance. i think photo_bot explained it best when he said "lunatics stand out more so u they make it seem like everyones crazy"
