I think this makes a big difference..this is the difference between north america and europe..thats is why the problem with sex, drugs, and violence is much bigger here than most parts in europe.
me for example..my parents worked,,but i spent 90% of the time with my grandparents
this makesa big difference..because the kids here (US and Canada) have TV's and video games instead of grandparents or someone to play with them..read..go outside..and do other positive and healthy things..im not saying that tv and vid games are bad..but it does effect theh way the child thinks and feels
i have a small bro and sis 5 and 6 years old. and they are growing up totally different from how i grew up
TV most of the day..and no grandparents.
I am the one that takes them outside when they wanna go play or go to the park. but then again i cant dedicate half the time to them that grandparents would.
SO then again i think that these days...since parents work..the replacements for the kids such as television and so on are not good and will impact the children..NOT greatly..but they will be missing that special piece of childhood

Replacing the time the parents would have with their kids with some videogmes console or tv and stuff is pretty bad. Paretns have to be rigth by their kids. And yes, you're absolutely right about that Grandparents part.I grew up with my grandparents as well. Whenever my parents were busy like hell, I'd spent the day(or night) to my grandparents' place. That kinda makes up for the "Parents Time", but can in no way substitute it.
Usually, parents who are working fulltime tend to make up for the time they don't spend with their kids by giving them gifts and stuff. Which makes it even worse. I have seen kids going really wild. They might lose tottal respect about their parents or something and they have psychologic issues. I'm not saying that your kind is gonna rip-off his clothes ,grab a banana and swing from the ceiling-light or sth. But these things stay deep inside. It is crucial that kids spend time with their parents, go for a walk, have fun at the swings and similar things. And above all, they have to make the kids understand that the parents LOVE them. That could balance-to some extent- the "lost" touch and communication with parents.

I forgot about that. they get ungrateful as well.
They get hurt in multiple psychological levels and react to this by being often rude and agressive among other behaviours

Sometimes for social or/and economic reasons parents have to work full time to support their families. I think that if the parents educate their children with decent values those kids will be fine...I think the most important thing to do as a parent is to make the time that you do spend with your kids good quanlity time.
