Pet forum peeves - what are yours?
What are your pet peeves? What really grinds you up the wrong way. Not in an everyday life sense, but the things people say/do/post on forums, TA in particular. Mine are as follows.
- Americans who assume that everyone on the Internet either lives in America, or is going to know where everything in America is. For instance, someone starting a thread in COR about going to UNI in the US.
i.e. - American: "Yo anyone from SOCAL down here heading up to UMSC in the fall".
Me: "What? That made absolutely no sense"
American: "Look I'm not stupid, I'm going to UMSC".
Me: "What the hell is UMSC?"
American: "Yo who's from SOCAL"
- People who insist on abbreviating & capitalizing each and every word.
i.e. - "Yo Y R U Goin 2 A Place Lik That Mang Ima ROFLZ"
- Excessive use of question marks or full stops.
i.e. - "ANywayz......i just.......wanted........to.........say.......that.......i.......often.....use
.......too.....much.....punctuation.....when......i.....post......things
.....on,,....forums.....yes.....forums????
Another example: "So YeAh (CaPiTaL LeTtErS)......who knows the name of the....song???????????????????????????????????"
