This is going quite offtopic, but why do they call the U.S. the land of the free when clearly they have regulations for everything? Everybody always says "It's a free country", well, doesn't look very free to me.

Do companies in the Netherlands check the criminal history of a person before they hire them? If so than one can take your argument and use it for that too.
Companies like to do drug tests to make sure they aren't getting a fuck up in as much as they check criminal history to make sure they aren't getting a violent individual or someone who would committ fraud.
I think drug laws are retarded as well, however, it has nothing to do with being "free". To a company you can freely use all the drugs that you want, and they can't deny you any rights like the government can. They can, however, deny you a priviledge such as the job and it's their perogative to make that decision.
