Expecting others to cater to your feelings

Ive recently moved back home (with my mom & dad) for a couple of months to avoid being locked into a lease that would prevent me from moving down south once I graduate this winter. One thing Ive really noticed with my little sister is that she expects everyone to cater to her feelings. She gets upset everytime someone says something contrary to what she thinks or believes and cant handle a logical discussion if it doesnt follow her narrow viewpoint of the world. As a result, it makes her difficult to live with. For example, she was telling me how great this all-male school (notoriously famous for producing homosexual males froms it's graduate ranks) is, and was going on and on about its great attributes. I interrupted her to ask if she could name one bad thing from the school, and she said some of the people. I asked her what made the people bad and she said, they hurt my feelings saying mean things. When I asked her why she expected everyone to cater her feelings (aka, what makes you so special), she simply said I was mean for thinking thats what she wanted and left the room. I didnt bother following up this topic because it only exasperates everyone.

So how can you live with someone who expects you to cater to their feelings and desires? Because right now, interaction is at best annoying and causing me to rethink my living situation (as a small facet of a larger picture)

ugh that's a year younger than the absolute minimal age that I accept.

Anyway, she's probably having her period and being an arrogant prick. Seriously tho, people like that, I tend to just remember what does not set them off and try to avoid them at best (a few are on these boards, no names). I get tired of easily offended moody people easily but next time, ask her why are you here, what do you want? or if she asks, why do you care, reply I love you as my sister and care about your opinion, should easily win pts. Remember women like to be validated every chance that you get and it works wonders.

simple solution: brick the bitch

not-so-simple solution: tell her what you mean by catering to her feelings. tell her that she's becoming increasingly difficult to bear to watch whilst she does those things. she is not going to be the centre of attention, and when things don't suit her she needs to learn to deal with it

personally i'd go with the simple solution
