So I want to run a business and think I found what kind business to run. I want to start a company as large as Google and Ebay and as common as your email. Don't mean to be vague but I don't want to give anymore details for obvious reasons. However I don't have much knowledge in computers and none in programming, since this idea of mine will be on the internet. Not much as an experienced business run person either for my experience is lacking in starting a company, per say. I've never managed people much in a business. Nor have I been a project manager for something. I know it sounds ridiculous but realistically I'll probably need several millions of dollars to startup. I'll need to hire business consultants, plenty of lawyers for protection and intellectual property stuff, Accountants, Publicists, a dozen talented programmers and not the least, graphic artists. Eventually down the road marketers, realtor, and the whole shabang to make a business work and run smoothly. I have thought of going to a few Universities and talk to professors about this venture. Maybe ask them to help me select student who would want to help in the project. Personally, I don’t have any concrete ideas where about I should start on this. This forum has folks with broad ideas so any advice?

number 1 if u want someone to invest millions of dollars u'll need an amazing business plan fully detailed step by step, ull need a kick ass advisory board. and lets say u came up with one investors still proly wont give u any money cause ur team consists of u, who has 0 experience in anything and has no money. i have million dollar ideas too man, just keep em to urself. start with something smaller and work ur way up to ur million dollar idea


edit: btw u dont have to start off as a big gun, think of way to do this where u could spend as lil money possible. think of a niche market u can penetrate with ur idea and keep it low cost. then build it. nobody will ever give u the money, i promise u that

I feel like knocking on Bill Gates' door and asking for donation but the thought of his lawyers wanting the piece of the action makes me shiver. I prolly should just go to Google's headquarters and talk to the founders. Demand $10 million upfront. Then option of 10% profit or 5% profit with name and fame or $90 million later and I'll just stfu and dissappear with the money and everyone's happy.

Dude, this is a niche market. No one has done it yet. Yet everyone have come across it. It's like.... the Nintendo DS touch screen. It's not a new wheel but heck it practically changed the way how we do gaming.

K so basically, you want to make a lot of money, but you have no idea how.

The money is really secondary. The fame third. The important thing is I have the idea. It's an idea that needs to come to fruition. How does one go beyond just an idea. So I think I've "kept things straight" in my original post.

you have to get it patent then sell the patent to a major company. collect ur riches buy a swimming pool filled with KY and buy 3 high priced hookers

Yes... because the majority of people don't think outside the box? or better yet... countless people are afraid to act on it. Whether it's laziness, lack of faith, self-doubt or just afraid to be great. I don't think I'm hindered by these qualities. Just lacking in a support staff.

heres a million dollar idea for u. a cell phone service that is free! and u make money from advertisors. instead of a ring tone u have 10 second advertisement clip when u call someone.

heres another million dollar idea for u. movies u can rent for ur lcd screen in ur car thru GPS sattelite. u download the movie or mp3 for a charge of whatever lets say 5 bucks a movie or a dfollar a song straight to ur car and u can keep ur fam entertained while ur doing that family road trip...
