People with the vascular type live about 45 - 50 years on average.

People with the more common types have a normal lifespan, though. Mostly it's just a big pain because their joints degenerate faster than everyone else's.

Jive, while you are at it, ask to get tested for Marfan disease also. Since Ehlers is a genetic mistake in the synthesis of colagen (fibrilar protein) it could be related for the disease I mentioned up there, which is an alteration of elastin (also fibrilar protein) which can have way more severe consequences.

EDIT: Yes, Marfan is the alteration which causes blood-vessel and artery problems. The thing is that the aorta can be damaged VERY easily.
