Jester Anyone still play the Sega Dreamcast?

I mean, PS3 and Xbox 360 is just starting to feel, ... NOT FUN! I just started playing my dreamcast again and it never fails to entertain. BEST CONSOLE EVER.

I wish. I have like 60 burned games for it and none of them work anymore for some reason

I have so many great Japanese games for it...

Constraint breeds creativity and innovation. If all games want to give you complete freedom in a virtual environment, why call them games? If so many of them are clones, you're bound to get bored.

When the technology wasn't as advanced, they had to create interesting, fun challenges to make a good game. Aiming for realism and massive worlds is missing the point. I'm no Luddite, I think it's a good thing for us to improve our ability at emulating reality, but I feel that many companies have forgotten what it means to make a fun, challenging game.

I think there's a point where the amount of things you're allowed to do causes it to stop being a fun game. There has to be some kind of interesting constraint or method of playing. Too many rules or too little rules = no fun.

Portal is a great example, of how creative games can be with contemporary technology and how unoriginal the rest of the industry is (ideas like that shouldn't be so rare).

I have a Wii but I only play Super Smash Brothers and NBA Jam on it. A majority of the time I play my SNES and N64. I live for the classics.

Shenmue is pretty much the only RPG I've ever genuinely enjoyed.

It's been years since I last played it though.

I loved the dreamcast.

I hear there is still a pretty strong homebrew community for it.
