help - this weekend - restaurants & stuff to do?

hey guys and gals, this weekend my BF and I are coming to Montreal for 2 nights (Sat and Sun). We don't want to do any clubbing (I'll be back Feb 29 for that ) but would like to have a nice dinner out on Saturday night. Can anyone recommend a somewhat upscale, trendy restaurant that is fairly easy to get to (we're staying in old montreal), doesn't have too heavy of a menu and plays good music?

I haven't been out for dinner in Montreal in quite awhile - I remember St Laurent strip being excellent but I would prefer to decide in advance and make reservations instead of just walking along the street.

Lastly, is there anything else of interest going on in Mtl this weekend?? If it's not too cold, we'll probably go skating at Place D'Armes...there is an ice bar there, right?

Thanks!

If you go to Vauvert, food is very good, music is house and very appropriate and its in Old Montreal

Its St Paul Hotel's restaurant

www.vauvert.ca

If douy ont care about music and youre looking for a restaurant that is in my opinion one of the best i've ever been

Go to "Club Chasse et Peche"

Its also in Old montreal and the food is AMAZING

Not that expensive for what you get

Try the risotto, i almost fell off my chair

http://www.leclubchasseetpeche.com/

Music is background music, very intimate, warm place

You love it

Club chasse et peche is indeed one of the top restaurants in town.

L'épicier
Toqué

are also good choices

thats funny because when i went two weeks ago, Normand Laprise and Martin Picard from Pied de cochon were having a meal. Picard was his usual self, lumberjack shirt with his chest hair coming out. He was talking really loud and now everyone knows he just went on a diet.

lol. that night wasnt too upclass.

the waiter was though.

you guys like to be steal proper.
I agry it's good food...but WAY too expensive for what you got in your plate srly.

Both place have nice chef, I'll never bash on them for sure, espicially Claude Pelletier who did a great job all the time in creation and innovation using Quebec product. But if you want Kobe beef at 18$/oz, go there

for myself I recommended 3 places

1. Bleu Raisin, nice little high-class bistro, bring your wine, you need a reservation for sure 514.271.2333
+/- 100+tx+service

2.Bronte, prob the best italian/mediteranean restaurant right now in mtl, bit expensive, but worst it
+/- 200+tx+service

3.Ora, on st-Jacques just next to tribe hyperclub, chef is friend of mine, great job also there and music is cool ambient
150+tx+service

have a nice trip
