You know what's sad? When people listen to electronic music SO much that they start noticing every little goddamned thing..."Oooh that's cheesy"..."OMGWTF he played As the Rush Comes". Every forum I've posted my review about yesterday gave me hell about Oaky. Good lord and gimme a fockin break! Lay off the trance pipe mang. And thank God I don't know every track by name, I'm spared the dissapointment and/or humiliation. There's no reason anyone should be listening to THAT much electronic music.
If you have that problem, I suggest tou switch genres for a while... say classical from the Baroque era. See if you can name Bach's every track.

Wow, I'm surprised that he played this song
How long did he play for, 2 hours? I don't see how you can start off with tribal prog songs, then play this? Doesn't seem like it would fit (flow) in that type of set hehe, but Oakenfold can do whatever he wants I guess
Anyway, thanks for the review and I'm glad you had a good time. He's coming around here soon and I'm still debating to go or not and this review helped. |
I havent seen Oakenfold spin in almost 2 years, so I really had no idea what to expect from him this time around. I didnt go and check out the tracklists section of any of his recent gigs, so i dont know what type of set he was going to play.
I remember someone saying that he played in SOuth America, and the set was really tribal and breaky, lots of breaks.. SO i dunno, i guess at first, the first couple tracks seemed like it was going to flow in that direction..
But yeah you're right..hahaa Oakie can do watever he wants.
Oh yeah he played ,i think for 3 hours. since it was a special night it was advertised from 9-3am.. he took the deck at 12:10 or so.. I left at 2:30... so i'mnot to sure if he kept playing after that.
