This is not right, in fact, I will call it BS!
here goes:
a little while ago I see a "new" thread about the Cell Injection party, with no feedback (then).
seeing that on the USA--> NY page, made me smile, and I was thinking gotcha!, cause our moderator was the one who overlooked that this event had been posted already weeks ago (knew, cause I'd seen it, maybe even posted, don't recall)
But then, I just looked at the post, and saw the comments there.
And that is what can only be called bullshit.
quote:
"but they did not have all the event details in the first post and the thread title was also incomplete."
SO WHAT?
that happens all the time, especially when an event is posted when it's deets aren't fully know.
That's exactly what comments can be used for, to provide further information as it becomes available.
Myself, I've changed the title on more than one occassion after that happened, and I'm sure that could've been arranged...
And what does "all the details" mean, anyway?
Time, venue, line-up, that really all that's needed, and a link or two for more info, which will surely be on RA anyway.
(how many people here really care for the bottle service portions, you don't see too many comments that beg for that, lol)
But, more serious, since when is that grounds for interfering, or whatever, in a proper post by a member?
Certainly not the rules, as they are posted for this website.
But it gets worse, quote:
"Aside from that I have an agreement with Sankey's to be the official poster of all Sankeys related threads on TA."
SO?
What does that have to do with US?
Your agreement doesn't bind anyone here to it, nor TA for that matter.
We don't work for Sankey's, and they can't impose their rules on us.
And neither can YOU!
Or at the very least neither should you be allowed to make up rules that don't exist in the first place, and then use your ability as a moderator to do as you please.
This is not a commercial website, and if you just go and do it like this, it really looks like a conflict between being a moderator who is supposedly enforcing the site's rules (which don't include any of this), and being a promoter trying to manage the listings.
This is very disappointing, and I hope it doesn't happen like this again.
Listings are first come first serve, and you have pointed out many times that the one doing a double will get banned if they keep doing it. So, the second poster is the one breaking the rules, and if it's not a problem when the one enforcing the rules is the one breaking them, I don't know what is...
One more thing:
the information of the original post came from Gigatools if I remember correctly.
That is an official artist's calendar.
if they chose to make an event public long before the venue does, then by all means it should be posted here by whoever, and if the venue doesn't like being pre-empted, they can put the info out there sooner too (just like Drumcell did....)
Simple.
Even IF there is nothing official, just a rumor, or a hint hint, it's proper to be posted on the events thread, after all that is what its for, alerting people to upcoming possible events, to help us manage schedule better.
peace
