Overall a good night, great seeing / meeting a bunch of you: Trance Addix, Ellipse, YankeeBaby, InterMilan, Ali, Neil. Armin's selection was great and kept the crowd up for it all night long. My only real complaint was that Spirit was way too crowded! I've been there a bunch of times now and this ranks way up there in how many people I've seen there. I was right in front of the DJ booth for the first 1 1/2 hrs of Armin's set, dancing my ass off (when I wasn't potentially being trampled), and then from it being so hot in there, I had to go off to the side for about an hour or so. I made my way back towards the middle of the dancefloor later though and stayed til about 6.
Personally, I think between this and his draw last time at Crobar, that Armin has 'graduated' Spirit and that his future gigs should be in the bigger venues like Crobar or Roxy. I thought his set would have been amazing in Crobar with a bigger space to move around and lasers. Oh well, guess there's always next time.

I've got tons of awesome pics (BiG MiKE hooked up the on stage pics!) and a few videos. Armin closed the party with Communication per my request! That's TWICE I got the last song!!! And rofl, me and the dude next to me started the "One More Song!" chant! Does anyone know the name of the encore track he played after Communication? It was sick! Okay I've gotta sort my pics and stuff, and probably goto bed, I'll post the pics later on. |
Last track was Seven Cities.
I had an awesome time, great seeing the TA's out, and some friends I haven't seen in a while, it seriously sucked that the place was overcrowded, and the assholes that were pushing people around on purpose, I prob only spent about an hour on the dancefloor, and then moved away... I agree with Armin being at a different venue next time. Spirit is too small for the amount of dicks that didn't even know why they were there to start with. Off to sleep now!

b4 the short review of mine, just like to say nice seeing some u guys, Joey, Thero (didnt catch ur real name, sorry), Mike, Chris Luzz, Gabriel, and Yan, i saw u up there on the pillar but it was impossible to even get there although i was like 10 feet away half the night! ill have a few pics my friends girlfriend took up soon... too many people, i mean, theres always a huge crowd for Armin but that was just redonkulous, i couuldnt move or breathe, we stayed up in front during Remy's set just to wait for Armin to come out (speaking of, did anyone see the bouncer totally pwn the people in front trying to give Armin the "shivers" vinyl to be signed (which i dont know why he just wouldn sign, it was wierd), and then they took a picture right near the booth, the bouncer slapped her camera down, took the vinyl and chucked it back like a roid-raged former football quarterback in high school thats just now understanding why he should have gotten a college education (only thing hell be good at in life is being a prick bouncer). like i said to Thero, Remy is absolutely the best opener, him and Serge are the world's best opening DJs, they set the mood right, and especially Remy, plays some really interesting stuff that gets u dancing just right... well, if i think of nething more to add, ill add it, thats my review....
oooo and i lost my coatcheck ticket and they said they couldnt check for my coat until close, but i couldnt close, i hadda wake up early today, has this happen to anyone before, and if so, did you find it in good condition when you claimed it in lost and found (was it hard for u to claim in lost and found?).... im freakin out, i love that jacket

Dunno about Spirit. Happened to me at Crobar before. Went back the next day in the evening and got my coat back. Everything was intact: keys, mp3 player, cellphone, cash, .... One of the many reasons I love crobar.
