omg crazy set; me and lauren dead..... review to come

Just got home to NJ and had to post my review. Armin Kicked my ass for 4 1/2 hours. It was good to see Ryan(DJ slantzz)& his GF and Tyler (knittybone)there. Armin tore it up, in my opinion this set was better than the one in Crobar in august and that one was Amazing too. He is the fucking man!!!

I enjoyed the night pretty much. DJ Remy and Armin surely did great job for us. More review to come

Glad to see Armin made it.....we heard rumors that something happened with his flight.

in brooklyn college library; in between classes... haven't slept.... lauren passed out on my bed at my house ....

my club experience:

i saw very few familiar faces: enigmaT, Dj Slantzz, bubbleravergirl & boyfriend, Partyhopper (a.k.a. wallflower) who got some pics of me glowstringing in the beginning, a few old asian friends from my experiences at roxy in '02, and a few other familiar faces..... i was expecting a bigger NYTA turnout for armin... .but i guess some people are down at D.C. to see him tonight.

Lauren (citykitty on TA) and I got there at about 10:30; they were first starting to let people in. We took some shots of grey goose vodka from a small bottle we brought along and waited online with bubbleravergirl and her boy.... then we got in, line was relatively small, i'd say less than 50 people.... i barely got searched, the bouncers didnt even check lauren's ... got in there... went down to the dance floor.... about 98% of the club was filled with ONLY guys.... i am not shitting you.... lauren, bubbleraver girl, and i think like 2 more girls were in this club with like 200 guys in the first few hours.... dj remy was playing a superb set, better than his recorded livesets i've heard him playing before... a lot of good tech-house, prog. tech, prog. house, and eventually hard techno, very very good set.

Ok so we get down to the dancefloor at 10:40 and nobody is dancing. And there I am standing there.... i'm like wtf is this.... i mean honestly.... here i am after months of cell biology, nuclear chemistry, and botany classes eating away at my brain... and finally i come to a club to see one of the most respected djs on my list... remy and armin..... and wtf.... nobody is dancing; there is just a huge circle of guys standing around the whole dance floor. Lauren and I look at each other and we know that its going to get crowded in an hour and there will be no chance to really dance.... so just jump onto the middle of the dancefloor.... tribal dancing our asses off to remys amazing set while everyone else is just standing there.... watching from the balcony and around the corner.... i think to myself for a few minutes... wow i feel ridiculous being the only one dancing.... kind of embarrassing... but then i start to see.... things start becoming clear.... i start realizing that its time to just let go and honestly not care about anything.... just to let go and be free... so for the next half hour we just owned the dance floor

11:30 rolled around and i saw glowsticks lit up; i snapped, pulled mine out... and was like hell no! lol... they did not just take out the glowsticks.... so i did a bit of my usual swinging around and little dance for the crowd eager to be challenged by someone from glowsticking.com and such... i think partyhopper got some pics... and a half our later a few dudes showed up who knew how to spin and we had a glowsticking circle going on for about an hour... it was nice.... lots of small tribal dance battle going on here and there.... some glowsticking stuff.... was a lot of fun; danced with lauren a bunch ^_^

lol i still dont understand how i saw at least a dozen 40+ asian guys... where the hell do they come from!?!? That was interesting... lol...

At about 1:45.... remy got off and then he got back on.... and it was getting late and armin wasnt there yet... i was wondering why it was taking so long.... so i guess he must have some problems with his flight becomes he didnt show up till past 2:00ish.... i guess thats normal... remys set felt really long.... but it was very very solid; i liked it

I caught a good seat with lauren on some speakers and watched armin throughout his set with enigmaT nearby..... it got VERY crowded.... however nothing will ever come close to Tiesto @ Avalon.... lol.... that was awful.... more girls showed up.... girl to guy ratio became a little better.... that black dude who wears the goggles and a jersey and comes to every event and does crazy dancing was there too lol...

Overall, a quality club experiences; nothing went wrong. Armin was VERY into the set.... he had a lot of energy... smiling more than ever... havent seen him so into the set in a while; the crowd was really digging him and he was really reading the crowd well. The sound system was REALLY good. The lights were AMAZING! Everything was perfect.... i found a nice spot to sit on... and for the first time i had to admit that this was actually rivaling my experiences at arc. Armin drew a great crowd.... i mean there were a lot of guys... but not a bunch of guidos with their shirts off... it wasn't that bad of a crowd... the people were nice and having a good time....

Everything was just chyll, as remy was ending his set and armin was beginning his people were REALLY dancing it up.... great crowd, great set, great soundsystem, great lighting, great energy, best music and amazing bass, i was shaking sitting on the speakers, everything went really good

definitely one of my better club experiences. Hope pics will be up soon.

wat a fukin CRAZZY nite...

DJ REMY was fukin GREAT -- which is good cuz he spun till around 2am (thoguht he was only gonna spin till 12?)
AVB PWNED -- madd energy and great track selection
The new Sound System was incredible...bass was siick
Very crowded and hot, yet there were pockets where there was a breeze so that was surprising...and also they opened up the 2nd floor
Bangin' set -- esp. when he threw down Synaesethia and a remix of Smells Like Teen Spirit (everyone was going nuts over that)

one of the most surprising things of all -- LASERS!!!! OMG they were just going all over the place..fukin siiick! i cant remember the last time this year i went to a NYC club that actually had lasers...red, green, yellow...damnz n they bounced off the giant disco ball in time with the bangin beats Armin was throwing down...iono if the lasers were just brought in for this party (since i dun recall lasers at PVD) or if its a permanent addition to Spirit...but overall i didnt really expect to get much out of the night, and it ended up being one of the best clubbing experiences this year i am sore as fuk from closing the party, havent done that in awhile...

soo good to see those TAs that were there (raversurge, DdR2k4, partyhopper, danax, trancinchink, bebe_yen, jackassjae, -- and i thought i saw vadushkall from afar (?) but could be wrong) wanted to thank my nyc and boston friends, including boston TAs ludawg23, and echo99 for coming down and making the nite incredibly awesome! i won't forget this for a long time...

2 words to sum up the night.. " SICK NIGHT" i thought remy was so so... but.. armin was dropping some sick tracks. dancing my ass off on top of the seatting cubes chilling with some cool girles , yea.. where da heck all these 40+ asians come from ? i mean im not young myself.. but i dont think they should be clubbing ekekke.. should be home watching drama's or cleaning the house. I think the club scene is getting werid with all these 40 year olds invading the clubs. yea i noticed that there wasnt many NYTA's or maybe i was too fuked up to remeber faces please post pics.... if anyone has them thanks.

Damn last night I really had an awesome time. Armin's set was very varied and consistent. The laser show was great. I brought a friend with me who never went to a trance event in NYC before and boy was she in for a treat. Her first NYC trance clubbing experience and she got to see a top international DJ of Armin's caliber. Remy's set had alot of energy and was a great opening to Armin's. The main floor seemed too packed to dance even before Armin came on so me and my friend Michelle decided to chill on the 2nd floor. We had a pretty decent view of the crowd and the DJ booth. She kept on pointing out that black guy with the jersey and goggles on who was doin some crazy shit. I don't know what he was doin but I guess he must've been high. It looked like most of the typical Spirit guido and meathead crowd that shows up for Jonathan Peters stayed home and the true trance fans came out for this one.

I stayed until about 4:45, had to leave because the Score's parking garage was gonna close at 5 a.m. and my car would've been still inside. How was Armin's set after he dropped Jump the Next Train and before he dropped the Nirvana song?? I got home at 5:45 and still caught some of Armin's live set via internet live stream transfer. That Nirvana remix sounded sick. I can't imagine how crazy everyone went when he dropped that tune. I really hope someone recorded the live stream of Armin's set and is kind enough to share it. Overall, I would give last night an 8 out of 10 just cuz I had to leave early and it got kinda packed. This was my first time @ Spirit and I was quite impressed with the quality of the sound system.

you mean they just got off work from the resturant, with there greesy hair hahaha , anyways its fuken werid.. these guys dress liek they just got off work from the resturant , I mean im chinese and all but.... it kinda make chinese look bad!
