Didn't realize there was already a similar thread kicking around...oh well, can't ever hurt to rethink some of those options, right ?

If there was a position for a poster boy who's only good at crossing, the occasional defence splitting pass and taking a free kick, then maybe i'd consider Becks...otherwise there are tonnes of players who can do what he can and then some.

And right now I can't be arsed to add my starting 11, I'll post it tomorrow.

Look, i'm no Beckham fan but he is a world class free kick specialist and does have a pretty good long ball. Is he a world class midfielder ? Probably not anymore. He's a poor tackler and doesn't really have great pace or skill on the ball, but as far as stamina and drive goes, he's definately one of the top players in the world.
People who bash him without really pointing out the flaws and strengths of his game make me wonder just how much they actually understand about the game of football.

Players go through highs and lows, that doesn't mean their skills have dropped. There seems to be this fascination among fans to immediately jump on players who aren't able to ignite the spark they had with a prior team. Sometimes the critism is valid, other times the fans need to back off and just let the player go through the bad patch and hope they return back to their sparkling best.
I'd hardly write off Beckham just yet...
