People around here are a bit touchy about members asking how to make a sound when they don't know what sound a particular member is talking about. It is best to upload the clip, then people will be more than happy, even eager, to help.

If you can, upload the clip that contains the bass you're talking about and you'll get tons of help.

Cheers.

As far as those type of basslines go, the 1 in the public domain sample was pretty crappy imo, and not the best to try to copy.
Anyway, for ur 1, try putting it down a few notes and just dont let the cutoff go up so high. A small amount of bassy reverb would help too.

What you need to do (and this is what DJ-Fuq was getting at I think) is make sure the filter has closed down again by the end of the note. In your example the filter cutoff is still high at the end of each note, whereas in the Public Domain example the filter cutoff goes down at the end of the note.

Did you use saw waves for your try? Switch one (or more) to square for a tone more like the Public Domain bass. Also, you could try a comb filter (which can change the tone of a sound quite a bit).

Well what i meant was to not let the cutoff go so high in the first place. The good hard bassy ones like the original picotto 1s r the best by miles i think
