Arrow Where can I buy/find trance patches for Fantom/Triton/Motif workstations?!..

Hi,

I intend to buy a workstation (doubting between Fantom X, Triton, Motif) so I can compose songs anywhere without the need of a PC.

Does anybody know where I can find or buy good trance patches for the Fantom X, Triton, Motif?! They are no VA synths, but they seem to have all the basic waveforms (Fantom X even has supersaw waveform from JP8000 I believe), but so far I couldn't find any good trance patches/soundsets for it. Where can I find or buy good quality trance patches for any or all of these synths?! I mainly like to make song-based vocal trance like Antillas radio edit/remix of Tiesto's "Just be" to name a recent song to get an idea of the type of sounds I am looking for.

Cheers, Mike.

I know the Triton extreme has some nice pre-made trance type stuffs. I've played with it at guitar center and went through most of the sounds...(Was there for a while hehe.)

Fantom X would be awesome because of the samples pad. Be very good for drums + a nice color screen

But personally, my Favorite is the Motif...any sound you could ever think of is on that piece of equipment.

For the fantom series, you can use SRX expansion cards that come with 'premade' dance patches. The three modules you mentioned are pretty much the same in the sense that you will be pretty much limited to the PCM waveforms that come programmed into its memory. Having that said, those modules are usually tailored for broad array of genres, so if you want specific sounds/patches suited for dance/techno, etc.. you will be best off to obtain dance/trance oriented expansion cards that typically include waveforms from of widely used synthesizers in ED (like the JP you mentioned).

Or you can always get an actual synth itself, instead using sampled based waveforms...

Roland makes the SRX 05 Dance Extreme for the Fantom. Its ok...although it has some waveforms from well known synths, it doesnt sound or offer full flexibility like the real thing

I can tell you from experience.... after owning both roland xv 5080 & now owning a JP 8080 & Virus, its not the same as having the real thing... although the XV xpansion has the same waveform of the JP8080, it doesnt give you the flexibility to directly detune that one waveform to generate a completely fat crunchy sound.
