Drum Maps in Cubase SX

The way i arrange my drum tracks using battery w/ cubase sx is i record each drum live on a seperate midi track and then loop them and map out my beat using anywhere from 4-12 midi tracks just for drums. I've heard "drum maps" being mentioned before and i'm wondering how/why they're actually used and if it helps out when you're playing you're beats and not mapping them out. Are there any benefits to ease of arrangement when using drum maps?

Hi - I use similar method but I use drum maps for all midi drumtracks, it makes editing them much easier. You can create your own drum maps for your particular instrument/drum machine...I think cubase uses GM midi drum map for default.
