I want to record something from a movie i have on my PC, but im not sure how.. anyone ?

open an audio recording program and arm a track. set the recording device w/ the little speaker icon on taskbar by going to options>properties>switch to recording>okay. now set the device as wave out or something similar that is basically what passes through your soundcard. go back to your recording program hit record, then play the movie at the part you want the audio for. you are essentially 'capturing' the sound that runs through your soundcard.

That's all well and good if you happen to have that little speaker icon in your taskbar...

If your smart enough to disable the speaker icon in the task tray, you should be smart enough to know how too get it back!

Controll Panel -> Sound and Audio -> Advanced.

You'll need some sort of audio input on your soundcard, usually a line in that takes a couple of left & right ( white & red )audio jacks.

Your dvd players audio output -> your computer's line/aux input -> software that records audio input, i use wavelab at home.

Err, no. I know how to do it on mine, but different sound cards have different drivers and therefore not everyone has that little icon down there...

thats one way to do it, but i kinda have the movie as a DivX on my PC..

If you have a spare dvd player, play the dvd in that (assuming your talking about dvd movies) then simply get the centre channel from the DVD out to go to your input on your soundcard (either buy or make the cable, either way it wont be massivly difficult).

The center channle on all but the oldest movies gives out speech only. Likewise other channles will only give out sound effects and stuff, like in devils advocate, there is a scene where you hear an awesome thunder rumble on the left and right satelite speakers.

erm, Rent the movie? Borrow it?

I use Total Recorder for those purposes. No cables etc, so no quality loss, it all stays digital.

Just open total recorder and set it to record all input sources, then play the movie and in your movie player set the soundcard to Total Recorder, now record in total recorder,

EDIT: btw Total Recorder is a program which you can download (i believe a trial version)

strip audio from divx search in google

i think virtualdub (it`s free) should do it

(no need to change anything)

open movie, select start and end point of the part you want to strip, save WAV and ìt`s done
