Hey guys now a days there are so many trance styles so many sub genres out these days.When you go online you hear a lot of epic trance, anthem trance,a lot of ambient trance,lots of progressive ,you go to the clubs in the city they rarely play trance if they do its some pop song remixed ,or its usually house music.

you turn on the radio late at night in the city and they just play club music. ktu fired Vic Latino and Liquid Todd do not come on k-rock anymore late Saturday nights so theres nothing to listen to on the radio.

Some of the after hours clubs will play some hard techno ,acid,and some psychedelic trance .
So what im getting at is ,I love all kinds of edm dont get me wrong but, we may be all trance producers or edm producers but we may have our own style of trance,like what i consider trance may not be
trance to someone else and vice versa ,so my question is this,is there a market for all styles out there since everyone puts there own twist on there style to sound unique in there own special way.

As I am not one to follow trends i usually do what I feel and what sounds good rather than producing whats hot at the moment ,so just let me know if there is a market out there for all styles of trance.

I have no idea. But I have to note that banking your luck on making a living from EDM is really foolish, even if you're pretty talented. Markets are fickle things.

Personally, I would throw marketability out the window and just do what you want unless you're dead-set on the "making money from music" thing. If you really are set on that, then you should probably go into pop or rap production and do trance as a hobby.

Ultimately, with your own music, make music you love listening to. There is a market for trance music. It's not as big as it was in the late 90s/early 00s when it grabbed a mainstream following for a while, but there is still a market. But yes, be realistic about how much money you could make in your chosen style.

In terms of making money, it's probable that other styles will bring in much more. So then you need to weigh it up: would you rather sit in an office all day, or sit in a studio all day, even if it's on music which isn't your first preference? Either way, you should still have time for making the music you want in between.

I pretty much understand where you guys are coming from. Ill just stick to my guns and continue to make music I love and enjoy and maybe ,dable in a few other genres along the way, but in the end ill have fun,I know trance is not what it used to be market wise like back in 97 or 98 but, there is money in all kinds of music if you are dedicated in what you are doing and you believe in yourself.

there's never enough producers in any genre. diversity in producers is good. the problem is too many labels signing shite. this being the digitial labels that everyone starts up these days.
