Be aware, though, that the only guaranteed MIDI outputs you'll get from a synth/controller are note on/off (with velocity/aftertouch), mod wheel, and pitch wheel.
So the downside to using a synth as a controller is that the knobs won't be assignable to whatever MIDI channel you want. But the Virus TI can do that in controller mode.

isnt that only to enable sysex Tx? I never tried it when i had the synth but im assuming that will work? U can record knob-movements in the daw atleast and then pass that channel on to a VST? or am i wrong. as stated ive never tried this kinda stuff, hardware was too complicated for me.
