creating new instrument in logic

hey there I'm very new to production and hope to get to know all of you better in the new future as I've just really started to immerse myself in logic, and even though I feel like an absolute fool, it is sooooooo addicting and fun just experimenting. Now for the question =)

I kind of skimmed over the manual and couldn't really find the solution, I might very well just be missing it. I want to create a new midi instrument with my vengeance soundset for my keys. How do I make a new instrument that I can import into the sampler, and how to assign each note those sounds? Is there an automated way of doing this or a fast way or ??? And also what are your opinions/process you go through in assigning each key. Obviously the soundset I'm using has 2400 sounds, do I go through all of them picking the ones I like? Do I make enough instruments to get them all assigned and go though them after and make instruments with sounds I like? I'm so overwhelmed but hopelessly glued to my macbook. Thanks for any help/tips!

If they are sampled instruments, then you should be using the EXS24 sampler. If it is Vengeance, look for a premade .exs file that already has the samples mapped out.

If there is not already an .exs file for each sampled instrument, then you'll need to load each sample manually, which is a more complex process. In order to do that, you 'll need to open EXS24, click edit in the top right hand corner, then go to Zone > Load Multiple Samples. At this point you can load up the samples and map them to any key you want. Then Save your EXS24 instrument.

This is going to be a laborious and time-consuming process, so I'd look for the .exs file first, as I know most of the Vengeance sample libraries have them.
