WIP - about to add main lead - anything wrong so far?

Apologies in advance for posting a WIP in here, but I neeeeed input.

About to add a lead element that will fade in and become the key focus of the break, but before I do it - is there anything you aren't liking here?

what happened to being an artist and thinking up and expressing what you want?

Do artists really consult and apply what people tell them to put in or take out of their work? Or whether it is wrong or right? Unless of course he was making a product above all, sure. If you're doin a remix for someone, sure some direction is needed, a beginner just getting in, sure, but come on, sort it out for yourself.

You make a fair point Kismet.

Thing is I'm using my own voice in there and I think it works, but like Brad once said, we all like the smell of our own farts - so I thought I'd better check, lol

And what if a couple of people replied and said they didn't like it? But several others did like it but didn't bother replying?

You decide if you like it. This is not an objective decision like whether a sample is in key or asking if a sub bass is translating well on different systems so for the love of god, YOU decide what YOU like and don't like!!!

How did you ever get a track released when you never seem to know what to do with your tracks?

I've also thought this when I see all your posts for help.

Anyway despite what others have said you have the right to get other opinions whether you decide you like something or not. Isnt that the point of these forums also.

But you would prob get better responses if it was in the music promotion forum.

I think you should add a lead, would give it that extra layer. The track sounds good, going by your other posts on TA you are too hard on yourself.

took a listen. Not that I have anything against gays but I could only ever see this track played in a gay bar. The male grunting and what not is just very gay. The track can also pretty much be surmised by 4 bars. Not very interesting at all. So ya, unless you to make a track for the next meth fused glory hole marathon at your local stud bar, I might reconsider your direction.

Gay bars play the best dance music.

I'm just sayin'

Anyway, to the OP:The problem with this is it's subjective. Asking people what they think of your track is a super inefficient way to find out whether it works in a club, all you can do is when it's complete send it to labels, if people like it they will buy it and bump it in a club.

Especially when it's on a trance forum, because people's opinions here are biased.

Asking for advice on a mix down or something is different since that's purely technical and really has a lot less to do with opinions, because while some people might like one type of mix better than the other there's generally just a consensus on what sounds good to the human ear.

depends if it is for the electronic crowd or the sailor suit leather crowd or german crowd which the above would be well suited for.

Yeh this is getting to the point like when a hot chick knows shes hot but seems to need reassurance everyday that her ass isn't too fat or boobs too small.
Look, some people are always gonna think your boobs are small buddy and you can't please everyone. Plus, if someone truely hated your track, you'd be more likely to dismiss them as having terrible taste than implementing everything they say.

I DO believe in track feedback threads, but not where you ask for an opinion on the entire track in general. There should be something specific you don't like about it (maybe bass.. kick, etc) and then in that regard I say its a bit more useful to make threads like this, but the way you are doing it now comes off too insecure. NOT saying thats the way you are, but you DO need to possess a certain degree of confidence in your work.
I say as a following goal, make a crap track then practice adopting the behavoirs of a prophet. Tiesto should make a tutorial on this. Cause even when your music sucks, a certain degree of psychopathic narcissism can make all the difference in the world.
We also have members here who can teach you that too.
