Does anyone have it? Reviews? Comparison to the regular maschine? I'm looking to buying this hardware.

The full Maschine has more dedicated knobs and buttons for things like Groups, which give you more real-time control. So, for live use, I think Maschine would be better. As Calvin mentioned, Mikro is definitely better for travel or a more compact setup. I haven't read the details of Mikro, but seeing as how both versions work with the same software, I would guess that Mikro can do everything that Maschine can, but with less hands-on access and more menu-diving?

Seems about right. Ever since Maschine was first released, I always seemed skeptical and labelled it as "junk". I was able to get my hands on a display Maschine at my local Guitar Center. Everything was confusing at first, but I soon realized that it would be absolutely essential in my setup. I believe, as long as I have the 4 x 4 button pad and a screen, I'll be golden; therefore, I'm leaning towards the Mikro.

Don't do this awful mistake unless you can live without onscreen editing of samples start or end points a d many others such as browsing etc... Don't underestimate the gain of focus by not having to watch your computer screen.

Mikro is good but I'd rather go for the full size unit. I can't see how I'd do sone things without relying on the computer, which is not really helpful then. Plus don't forget that maschine is fully hui compliant so you can use these buttons and knobs and control your daw

That is a very good point. I think I'll be better off getting the full Maschine with the newly discovered educational discount, bringing the price down to $449.99.

I love the maschine and got rid of command station. This is awesome and immediate, easy to use and quite intuitive. If 2 machines are good enough for hawtin's rig/live use...

Essentially, if you still want to use the mouse while working, then go for mikro.

If you are willing to learn to control maschine completely through hardware (which is not that hard to learn), then the full maschine is better.

I went for the full maschine, simply because they were also offering 2 free expansions before dec. 31st which i thought was a nice pickup.

It still doesn't have performance capture though right?
