'Darude feat. Jo Angel - In The Darkness' 2012 remix contest has officially begun!

Time and time again I've been asked "How can I remix you track X?", "Can you send me stems of your track Y?� and other similar questions. Well, here's your chance: I'm organizing a remix contest! The track in question is my 2008 release 'In The Darkness' of which I already made a '2012 Drums Mix' myself earlier this year. (Free DL on www.soundcloud.com/darude)

Like I said previously, the vocals are not for me, but I'm feeling more and more tempted to deconstruct those drums and just make a techno belter. Would that be admissable? And then do some dubby stuff with the vox too mayhaps..

It has to be recognizeable somehow, ie. in the general rules I put that the vocal should be used (somehow, creative use is not at all discouraged). An 'aah' here, a reverse reverb build-up there could be enough to be in the ballpark, preferably even a whole word somewhere

I have a 3 minute clip, but it's been a while since I've worked on it.

I arranged an 'In The Darkness' remix contest recently and I've now gone thru the almost 150 entries sent to the contest. I narrowed it down to Top 10 and I've got a vote going on on my Facebook fan page. The popular vote winner and my personal favourite will both get a chance to officially remix a track on the upcoming new Darude album (no deadline/release date set yet, but underway) and also to do a one-on-one Skype production Q&A session with me, or a face-to-face one should we happen to be in the same city.
