does anyone know hot to create a bassline (with reason or fruity) that sounds like the one in kurd mavericks "the rub"?

I'm not sure what waveform that is, but that effect on the bass at the breakdown is a bitcrusher.

Yep, it's a bitcrusher. In reason, the scream4 distortion has a bitcrusher called Digital. Give that a go.
It's also got some sidechain compression on it.

You're looking at a square wave, it sounds like. Simple fast attack, fast, maybe exponential decay, and finally a shitload of compression. Stick on a bicrusher and some sidechaining, and you're good.

[edit]Actually, that might just be a distorted sine wave.

[edit2]On second thought, it isn't. The ADSR filter wouldn't make such a nice popping noise if it weren't a square wave, and it's too hollow to be a saw.

hey, i made a decent stab at that sound in reason.. heres my patch n the sample also to upload into the NN19s..

if you dont like mine, i figure mines pretty close to what ur lookin for so u can just tweak the subtractors a bit and maybe get something slightly diff..

To me it sounds a little bit of what you might get out of Audiorealism's Bassline when you leave the wave undistorted.

It has that slightly acidic quality of a 303 but I guess you can get it from a host of other VSTs these days
