People with status in that business don't have to ask to do remixes, they get asked by the original labels/producers.
It is possible, for a pop/rock track, that they asked the label. G&D are known for remixing those sorts of tracks, though, so I'm sure that if they asked, the label gave it to them without hesitation. |
While this is true, G&D are known to enjoy these bands and seek out bands like Evanessence for remixes. Like any producer, they like to remix bands they enjoy listening to. Since they are indeed an international act, it's in thier best interest to ask permission before dropping a remix. It's certain that since they are an international act, that the original artists won't mind.
