Software editors for Roland JP 8000/8080?

I defiatly would want to use FX teleport because I can't stand having to reload patches, thats why my jp8000 gets so neglected. =-( Really wish Rekon would make a vst editor for it.

Speaking of this, are there any software editors for the Roland JP 8000/8080 Synths? I use the Virus Sounddiver for my Virus B exclusively and never touch the knobs on the actual synth, but for my JP 8080, I do all my editing directly on the synth.

In seeing pictures of people's studios both here and on other sites I recall seeing some people with their JP's mounted where it wouldn't be easy to edit patches directly on the front panel, so I figure that they might be using some type of software editors for the JP.

I have looked into it in the past, and the only editor I could find that supported it was Unisyn from MOTU, which I think is going to be discontinued and MidiQuest which seemed to not be well received by a lot of people.

So they question stands: is anyone out there using something to edit patches on their JP series using software?

Exactly, jp8000 has all the important functions assigned to controllers. Or do you want a patch library tool?

The Sounddiver takes care of patch savings and loadings, and a numerous of things i dont know.

However, it would be nice to have something that makes the sequencer load the patch used on the channel automaticly when opening the project.

I like the way that Sounddiver Virus presents nearly all the synth's parameters in a single screen so I do not have to go through submenus on the synth. Makes it a bit easier to work with, plus I don't have to have the synth within arms reach to edit a patch. I thought it'd be nice to have something similar for the JP, that's all. Just thought it'd be a "nice to have", not a "must have".

On the JP its not as big of a deal as *most* of the parameters are available on the panel.

The full SoundDiver has "Adaptions" for the Roland JP-8000/JP-8080, so you don't have to go find one. It's already there.

The Full version, ie: just "SoundDiver" can use just about any synth out there.

Basically, "SoundDiver Virus", that you can download from the Access site, or that came with your Virus, is a cut down OEM version that only works with an Access Virus.

I think the last version, is 3.5.02.

It used to be made by Emagic (Who also made Logic), but since they got taken over by Apple (What, 3? 4? years ago) they stopped making pc versions.

Nigh on impossible to find a (legit) copy, as it's not really the kind of thing you would sell.

I've been using it for years, and well, let's just say that it is a dead product / abandonware; not sure about any serious competition...

Learn how to use Bank and Program change messages. Insert at the start of your song, and voila, instant recall of patches via midi. Not that hard, and been doing it for ten years.

I'm looking for something like this too.. a nifty front end for the jp8080 that controls things via midi.. so this sound diver thing works a treat?
