does anyone use one shot wav samples for basslines?
ex:
a wav off the VEC1 or VEC2 cd.
Just a thought because I know alot of you guys use vstation, vanguard, bass station or any vst. But with a one shot sample I can work wonders
Anyway, any of those resynthesis sampler/synths may work when you have only one single sample and want to pitch it up/down a lot. Something like CamelAudio Cameleon 5000. It will keep the attack of the sound constant regardless of the pitch, and make a very smooth and lively loop to extend the notes as long as you want. I tried it for those Venceance bass samples and it sounded good no matter how high or low notes you play.

Or if you don't have that I take the sample offline and process it carefully with pitch adjusting tools to get the notes higher or lower down the scale.
I find bass samples ideal for adding further texture to a bassline underpinned with a synth.
Anyone rememeber the hennes and cold scot project bassline, must have been sampled and been made into hundreds of tunes lol
