Redrum MIDI file way off when dropped into other sequencer

I've got a drum pattern in Reason that I copy to track, then export it as a midi file and drop the midi file into Ableton. But when i drop it into Ableton it's off... the beat is slightly off (sounds like a mild dj trainwreck) and the notes are not consistent... the velocity of the notes is the same, but 4 or 5 notes play at a lower volume than others - and they're from a pattern, not notes I played. Other patterns seem to have worked this way for me - not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help?
