I don't know how I feel about this one. I mean... can Duende REALLY sound so much better than the Waves SSL bundle that it justifies playing $799 MSRP for 16 channels? $749 would seem way more worth it for the Waves bundle, even though it's native. Any Core 2 Duo machine should easily be able to handle over a hundred Waves SSL channel strips. I loaded 160 stereo channel strips on my quad-core PC and CPU usage was only at 45%. I do like the idea that there's a smaller, more affordable version of Duende, but the competition seems to hold more value.

The 'classic' rack model retails for around £899 give or take, the 'Mini' works out around £670 withm the upgrade so it's a pretty good saving. Think im gonna get a mini version, nice and portable and the 'X' plugins are meant to be awesome

Keep in mind that DSP systems makes non-realtime rendering impossible. There so many good software plugins available. It's not worth it in my opinion.

I use the DelayComp plugins with my UAD to keep them in sync, works fine for me dude, i assume i'll have the same latency with Duende so i'll be able to incorporate the DelayComp with this
Or you can just record your master channel, either way it is not over difficult really

what? why should DSP make non-realtime impossible!? beside that there are really some great native plugins available..

I have yet to see a DSP based system that doesn't force you to bounce in realtime.

They can't process faster than realtime. You can do an offline bounce, but it won't be faster than realtime. That's what I meant.

when i still used the powercore it was faster than realtime. but it won't be if you max out the DSP before rendering.

Be aware that the duende mini only comes with the channel strip plugin. It does not come with the buss compressor or any of the "X" plugins. It can also only run 8 stereo instances of the plugins. It would probably be much wiser to purchase a second hand duende for an extra £200 and have double the instances and the buss compressor.
The liquid mix is a good option. I have the liquid mix, Duende and a UAD-1 card. The duende and UAD sound alot better to my ears than the liquid mix, especially at hard settings. The UAD-1 sounds more pleasing to the ear and smoother than the Duende, whilst the duende sounds more precise, transparant and very open.
