Hows the melody in this track? Can use some feedback!
I've reached the point where I'm about 90% happy with my kick/basslines as I've already mentioned a couple months ago. I feel like I can also do decent percussion/drums although I didn't even get started on doing any drums for this track yet. Its just an open hat as I'm mainly trying to work out the melody.
And now I'm noticing my song writing/melody skills are awful. I like sadder mor serious melodies and I'm not sure why I even settled on this, it just sounds weak and cheesy I think. I think my main question is this though. If you set aside my own opinions about my music, and listen to the track objectively, what is the weakest aspect of my music now?
I feel like I've evolved more in these last couple months than I have in the last 3 years, like my focus has been shifting a lot and I need something new to obsess over. I'm also not the type of person who works in a balanced way. I like to focus on one thing, master it as much as I can, then move onto something new. So listening to this track, what would you say I need to focus on the most?
Should I just redo the entire melody from scratch?

Honestly Robbie. The melodies sound like two star-crossed male lovers holding hands at the mardi gras parade about to rip off their arseless chaps for some serious anal penetration.
You have a decent drive with the bass, I would re do the melodies.

Yeh I hate the MELODIES too. Not even sure why I submitted this TRACK lol.
I didn't notice the bass getting swallowed like that the filters actually open at one point and it starts driving a lot heavier but with everything mixed you can't even tell. I have no fucking idea how pros do this shit I'm gonna wind up lowering a lot of my levels and then the bass will come through but then the whole mix is gonna be low.
Kysora where the fuck are you buddy we gotta do a collab. I'll do the kick/bass/drums you can do the song writing/melodies. I need a change of pace or something I'm losing my mind and can't finish anything. I've managed to take my focus of my basslines but now all my melodies sound like a 4 year old wrote them. Unless someone else wants to collab? I know M4B is dying to volunteer come on you pussy show me how to write music =]. I just need a more deliberate plan of some sort. If anyone has FL and wants to do some work tommorow let me know!

Your primary focus should be making good music. That's all. No one gives a shit how you do it. And the people that do are fags.
