ableton / izotope ozone

A question for Ableton & izotope ozone users, how does mastering through ozone compare to using the Ableton Limiter?

Do your tracks sound louder if you use ozone (as opposed to the Ableton Limiter alone), or is it pretty much the same?

Cheers

I don't think you can really compare iZotope Ozone with just the Ableton limiter as the limiter in Ozone is just one of it's many features (which also include EQ, reverb, compression, stereo imaging, harmonic exciter).

Secondly I don't think just applying a simple limiter should be called mastering. Surely sometimes that's the only think that needs to be done but then you could say the mastering engineer didn't really have to do anything.

I think the secret to getting your tracks loud is in how everything is mixed together (before any mastering). If it's messy in there and already lacking in power then that will also be a problem when you're mastering the track.
