Any ideas on the best Monitor speakers for music production in the £80-140 price range.

Phew, difficult question. My answer is to save more money before buying

don't think you'll find much for that.. you can try tannoy or behringer, they may do some small ones. or 2nd hand ones perhaps..

There are these preamped Numark jobbies on www.sapphires.co.uk for £125 that my brothers got that are really good for their price

I think it may be best to put more money in the piggybank and go for the Alesis Monitor 1's. Has anyone had any experience with these?

no, but airwave/lvee recommended them to me once, so they cant be too bad..

yeah i think the alesis look quality! never heard them but from people ive spoken too also say they are pretty good!

i think one set has an inbuilt amp though i think they are nearer £300!

I have found a pair for £200 without an amp @ Sapphires.
I'll have to save 4 a while though .

sounded real good. they were also recommended by airwave.

other good ones are tannoy reveal active, alesis m1 active, behringer truth B2031 (bit cheaper) and maybe some mackie hr824 if you have a lot of money

those look quality! but i still think the alesis set look better

nah, i don't. these have a blue indigo coloUUUUr (damn yanks ) led. really makes a big difference to the sound. really
