novation nova

I have a nova os 4.1 and although the sounds on it are nice they are imo pretty useless for using in a trance tune, well most of em anyway..I do want to learn to programm but not knowing much at all about synth pogramming the nova manual isnt much help..does anybody know where I can get some good trance sets for it, it seems hardly anybody can actually use their synths properly lol also a site with programming tutorials would be good, specific to the nova..???

possibly..im not sure on definitions..novation call it advanced (or analogue) sound modelling..the basic jist is 3 oscilators..which can have sync/skew and soften applied, then to mixer, filter, effects etc...I think thats it..

Your best bet is to read one of the analog synthesis tutorials / guides that have been posted recently. These will explain the basic principles and get you up and running on creating the types of sounds you're after. Once you've got some ideas, experiment heavily.

And in the meantime, try subscribing to the (Super)Nova mailing list, which you can find HERE

Hi,

http://www.computermusic.co.uk has a synthesis tutorial were you might want to start with.

Access has a synth programming tutorial, but I don't know if it will be usefull because they refer a lot to their products.

http://www.access-music.de/pdffolde...hs_Tutorial.zip

Waldorf has reffered to the synhesis book from Wizoo, but I have tried to orded it at some places but it couldn't be delivered.

I have seen another book that might be a good replacement for it:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...3160875-3996446

Just search for books yourself at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ or http://www.amazon.co.uk if that's more usefull

can you load supernova sounds into the nova?
if so buy the Manuel Schleis sn2 sound set
his a great programer
take a look at his site http://www.vengeance-sound.de
do analesis to his patches and locate the basic of the sound
lets say you have a b c d e f g factors in a patch
factor b is the base and all the other factors just add more to the sound
so take factor b and add some of your own factors on it get my point?
