when you select vst.. theres 2 windows...vst and wrapper..
press the firs button from left of wrapper and select automation..voila.

i havent never use the record but i think when you just push record button from main panel and play with knobs it's gonna record the automation..right?

well to record automation you need to set a automation track in the pl then when its playing the song not the pattern, select the automation track in the pl. then press record and tweak whatever knobs you want to and then when your done press the record button again to stop recording the automation and bam you have automation.

If you are recording it. you need to highlight however many bars long you want to automate it for or it will just stop or go back to beginning after a few bars.
