Question Learning LFO / Filter Modulation's and Etc.

I find that you really need to know how to use these effects in order to really tweek synths to the full pottential to where you can make your own personal leads / sounds sound beautifully. I love reading this stuff.

I was watching a tuturiol last night and saw the effects they can have, yet not enough to really teach me how to do anything w/ it.

I was messing around with zt3a (sp?) last night also and I didn't know what I was doing lol.. But I did manage to transform some sounds.

Any links to any guides or anything where I can really learn how and what these do?

Thanks.

- Rodas

this is when you actually create an original sound and not a typical plain saw wav lead... =)

Just did a quick search and found this one. Goes into the basics of analogue synthesis. FYI all the filters LFO's and whatnot on your synth are just an elaborate way to tweak digital waveforms, you could program it all in binary if you wanted to. Only old analogue gear actually actually uses true waveforms. Not that it makes a squig of difference when your fiddling with knobs

Enjoy =)

As I understand them, LFO's/Modulators are just another way of automating parameters.

I love syncing the LFO to the beat, it can give the song a lot of drive and forward momentum.

The way I learned LFO for all my synths was the filter modulation for Synaesthesia, and I tryed to recreate the lead and I saw how it all worked. I recreated it on z3ta so I learned the Modulation and LFOs to that and on the pro-53.
