After only using cubase for sequencing, im still a total n00b at it for using it for production.
Anyway id really just like to get some basics out of the way, dont worry i have read the help but it doesnt explain well enough.
1. When i load up a VST got it all working and ive entered some shit into the paino role, say its the bass or something. How the hell do i add effects to it? like fade in, Delay and stuff.

open a mixer, and then open the channel of your selected vst instrument. there you can put insert channels in the signal chain, eq it or add sends.

Also offtopic but anyone know a decent VST that could make strumming guitar. Slayer is total shit, other than using it for some totally distorted rock based song.

you might try cuttermusic revitar.
