Cubase resets bank

This is really fucking annoying me now...

Everytime i load a midi and put a VST on it, say i have 2 midis on the same midi channel with a vst loaded onto it, i select a bank preset, the first one will play that selected preset but once it gets to the second one it resets to something totally different

Like say im using vanguard, the second one will always reset to BS tron

Had a look through the help, doesnt explain

im guessing you're using an existing midi file of a tune and you're assigning the vst to it?

I did abit more searching and found it was the Program Change setting.

One more question though, how the hell do i fade in or out a midi?

The easiest way would be to just automate the volume on either the mixer or the midi channel?
