I have a very small idea as to what the hell you're trying to ask, but I think you should open up some combinator patches of the style your talking about and dissect them.

since you got reason you cant use vsti synths i think unless you download FL Studio 5 and use it thru reason. and wandii's bass patch for fl is the fattest bass ive gotten my hands on =(.

Widen your sounds by detuning the oscillators a little bit (you can add more with additional Subtractors/Malstroms), and thicken them by distorting them with the Scream 4 (tape distortion works nicely).

Hope this helps.

thx i'll try these asap!! however, about the fruityloops being used with reason...isnt fruityloops a much less "advanced" program than reason? therefore id figure the sounds provided on fl might be a "cheaper" version as opposed to those on reason

ya no

fruty loops is a cheaper program yes, but when you use pro vst plug-ins, it becomes quite expensive
i personally would suggest cubase, it also has plug in support, but since you just started, wait a little and see how it goes first.
i believe there was a thread somewhere on this forum with a link for reason learning video, sort of watch and do thing. helped me a lot when i started with reason 2 years ago. remember, when you will move on into more serious production, you will need a program for mastering your tracks such as "wavelab3" and rewire your reason as a slave with other programs such as cubase, reaktor or what have you.

thnk u all for the wonderful advice but ive found out the sound im looking for exactly

an example of the synth im looking to create would be the the synth u hear in "It's Time - Ferry Crosten"...but the background synth whihc adds that bassy sound to it ive tried various subtractor patches but still cant quite get that sound
