I heard this sound....................

and I want to be able to include it in the track I am working on at the mo. I haven;t got a clue what makes it, but I love it and I need it and I'm positive one of you talented people will know how to do it. Heres the wooouuur sound in question.

Thx very much.

it's a pretty fatty synth with a relatively high attack and a good amount of release. alternatively, i guess you could just use volume adjustments (fade in, fade out) and apply them to a sample. i recommend using a vst because a lot of vstis are capable of making a similar sound under the right effects.

Hey. This is a bit of a secret in production but I'm not a magician so fuck it lol. To get that sound, pick a drum sample out, nothing imparticular but each sample will give a different feel to the growl. Next, you need to fill a measure with a whole note. After that, chop it or quantize it (depending on your host) to 64th or 128th notes. Finally, to get the full growl sound, you need to vary the pitch from +100 cents to -100 cents or scale it to your liking. If you have FLS5, watch for my ALLFRUIT vol2 demo because I'm doing a lot with such sounds .

Cheers,
Zac

I think it's not really hard to create a similar sound.

All you'd need to do is select a saw oscillator (or more and detune them a bit from each other), place the sustain for the volume ADSR to the max, and the attack of the filter ADSR to say 32 or 64 steps. Play with the filter frequency amount until you hear the sample go from very low freqencies only to full pass.

You'll have to set the sample just right though, so that it is in tune with your other instruments.

Hope this helps

I believe its a fat saw (a couple detuned saws) with a little bit of resonnance and distortion. The cutoff point goes from low to high so you can hear the lightly distorted resonance, giving the sweep effect.

funny, it just sounds like a slow-attack filter on a saw/pwm...

So what would be the best VSTi to make that sound on? I use Vanguard, Atmosphere, V-Station, Z3ta and loads more.
