Buzzing noise in speakers

I don't have monitor speakers, but I have 15" JBL EON loudspeakers, so instead of using crappy computer speaks, when I'm messing with FL Studio and stuff I run a wire to my mixer and play everything through the big speakers. Problem is as soon as I connect the wire I get a buzzing noise in my speakers, pretty bad too. It's really annoying on kicks, it stings. Any idea what this could be?

could be the mixer... could be the quality of the wires... make sure they are not near other wires and stuff, make sure they are not close to the pc screen (or does it only effect the screen???...damn wiskey...)

or it could be the computer fans noise going into your soundcard etc...

its the noise of the electricity going to your pc.

i did the same thing as you did, but instead i plugged from my laptops headphone to the mixer. when my laptop was wired and getting charged, it made fuzzy noise. when i disconnected the wire and let it run on battery, fuzz went away

try using anotehr plug for your computer....could be a grounding issue. Also make sure your cabels arnt corssing with any midi cables or power cables. Cheap cables will not have a coating inside that protects from incoming signals. Make sure you are using the right output on your card(dont know if you are using a cheap PC card or a audio specific card). Check the cable to see if it is spliced somewhere or your tip is damaged.

what kind of cables are you using? How is it set up?
What kind of card? What Kind of Mixer?

to me it sounds like a grounding issue...so try another plug...the least amount of extensions is better.

If all fails try the one-by-one trial an error solution:

unplug everything that you dont need to be plugged in, and one by one plug in the rest to soo if it happens right away or ehen you plug in soemthing stupid like your comp speakers or screen..could also be the fan maybe?.

Also check your windows mixer setting(if you are using a standard cheap PC audio card(not an audio specific card, example.. M-audio Delta) to see if you some sort of boost seting setup or some other line is jacked up that shouldn't be.

I need more info to help you any further.

Yeah, sounds like a ground issue to me. on your mixer have you got the input on phono or line?

Some mixer have a switch on the back as well as a toggle switch on the front. This could help. Else if it only buzzzing when your pc is connected via this wire (& not when you connect to same output with headphones for example, or same input with another sound source) try a new cable.

I don't know if this is the case either, but could it maybe be an impedance issue?

There might be a problem with the grounding in the connection. I had a hum on my mixer input to the computer but found out that my ground wire inside the audio cable had been broken. Replace your cable or make sure your equipment is properly grounded.
