What speakers should I get for producing?

I've been looking around, and have seen alot of speakers. I was told to ask TA what they thought. So what are some good, decently priced, speakers that are good for producing?

Thanks,
William

Search and you will find. It's a lot of threads about studio monitors.

Define "Reasonably Priced".. ;-)

Ok eough of the smart ass comments.

You need to go to a dealer and listen to a whole selection of speakers, each with the same piece of music that you know really really well.

Then make sure you can return what you buy and take them home and try them there..

There are a multitude of options to suit every budget, and more expensive doesn't neccesarily mean better.

Though in the case of $14,500 for a pair of ATC SCM-50A they are most definately better, and what they do makes them "Reasonably Piced". It's all a matter of perspective, budget, and what you intend to do with them.

I have a pair of ATC SCM-50a. They very very good, and I consider them reasonably priced for what they are, but at $14,500 a pair new the absolute price is a little high to say the least!!!!!

Moving back down into the atmosphere Genelec, Adam, Dynaudio, Quested and PMC all make thoroughly good speakers.

Getting further back to reality the Mackies and KRK's are also great.

Down the lower end there are a myriad of options, but to steal a quote "Friends don't let friends buy Behringer". Avoid at all costs.

Having every expensive speakers doesn't mean a damn if the rest of your gear and listening environment aren't up to snuff though
