I save my work as often as I can. Sometimes I forget though, and something happens, program crash, my foot accidentally pulls the PC's power cord (happened before). The worst thing used to be that FL's files would sometimes become corrupt after a crash. That doesn't happen much anymore, if at all, with the newer versions. I still make 4 or 5 different copies of a song I'm working on, just in case.

Usually after a crash, I can redo what was lost, I've done that many times. It's a pain, but I just push on and motivate myself to do it. Just get in the habit of saving your work every 10 minutes or so, or whenever you think about it.

That's one feature I like about Ableton. If your computer crashes(or the power goes out), it recovers the song you were working on when it crashed. You only lose the latest thing in the undo history since you last saved it, which is not a big deal.

That's really only happened to me twice to my recollection, and both times, I got so pissed that I went back and rewrote the entire thing from scratch.

So that's how I deal with it.
