Digital mix tapes.

I have tons of mixtapes from the 90's including some very old sets i used to rape mercilessly back in the day. I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on converting these to digital. Would Sound Forge be the best editing tool or would software such as Platinum Notes be a better option. Anxiously waiting for feedback and thanksyouverymuch.

i even have sets recorded with a vcr lulz.

edit: also just found some Frankie Knuckles Warehouse stuff...help me please!lol
