I have never been a fan of Cakewalk and i wa gonna save money to get Cubase or change to mac and get logic but hey yesterday I saw a friend with his laptop and he had Sonar 7 and I have to tell you W000000000T
That peace of software is amazing it can do so much thing im not gonna go in details but amazing
just wanted to share with u my experience

What I like about this version 7 is the interface and thats more important for me cauz im not a super pro to but Sonar not Cuabse because that little single options that it has more.I dint like the interface of 6 its almost the same in 7 but he improved it and besides the options and the added features which i can copy from their site i find Sonar 7 kool.."IMO !!"

Maybe it simply sounds better... kinda like how FL Studio is PWNed by all other sequencers in terms of sound quality. It just gives all your VSTs that special spark of clarity......
